SASKATOON – Crews have now cleared all damaged cars from the scene of a train derailment that has disrupted traffic on a busy highway just north of Saskatoon.

Thirty of 52 cars in the Canadian National Railway freight carrying grain left the tracks Tuesday morning at a crossing on Highway 11.

CN says no one was hurt and no dangerous goods were involved, but a locomotive leaked diesel fuel and firefighters had to put out a blaze.

Emergency officials say repairs to the track continue and the highway will have to be inspected afterward.

One lane southbound is open, although speed and traffic restrictions are in effect.
